GIRLS WRESTLING
At the 2012 Mayors Cup High School Girls Wrestling Tournament, all six hunter girls placed (two division winners), and the team came in second!

SPELLING
Hunter students take 2nd and 3rd place at Manhattan Middle School spelling bee!

MATHCOUNTS
Hunter’s all-girl Middle School team (the “Hawkettes”) takes first place in Manhattan competition – on their way to States!

Summer Programs and Opportunities in the Arts

On Wednesday, February 8th during activities period, Hunter’s newly chartered chapter of NAHS (National Art Honor Society) will be facilitating an information sharing session about summer programs in visual arts, music and theater. The activity will be in the auditorium and will quickly break into smaller discipline-specific groups within the space.

We welcome all students who have participated in a class, camp, program or internship, either in the city or residential, to come and share their experiences. Blair Anthony Dorner Basketball Tournament

On Saturday, February 4th at 12 pm and Sunday, February 5 at 11am, HCHS will hold its 1st Annual Blair Anthony Dorner JV Basketball Tournament.  This basketball tournament will serve as a way to commemorate Blair, who died tragically in a swimming accident in July 2011.  All money raised from these efforts will go to Blair’s family.  For full details regarding this Basketball tournament, please click on this link.

Photography Project

imageIf you would like to be a part of this artistic endeavor, you are invited to attend a general interest and informational meeting on Thursday, February 2nd in room 320 during 9th period. Experienced photographers are encouraged to attend; novice photographers are welcomed!  There will be many ways to be a part of this project: photographers, models, lighting crew, props and location scouts.  As a member of this project, you will learn a great deal about photography and will be a part of a group that artistically defines a generation of Hunter.  To see full details of this project, please click on this link.
