Girls' Swim Team
From Hunter College High School Wiki
The Hunter Girls' Swim Team is a fall sport. The coach is Coach Joe Schiappa and assistant coach is Guanqun Shi. The manager is Noah Kaminsky who is training Carl Cheung to take over the reins next year.
Due to renovations of the Hunter College pool, the swim team had no pool of their own to swim in. Practices were held at a recreational pool (with some exceptions). The girls had a hard time fitting into the two lanes given.
 2008-2009 Season
Sophomore Katja Lazar has come back to the swim team and has been maintaining her times from last year. The team has high hopes for her next year.
Freshman phenom Catherine Chen has turned out a dazzling performance this year. Specializing in distance, she has shattered her opponents this season and is a bright star for Hunter Girls' Swimming in years to come.
Sophomore Briana Gaskin and Yvonne Ye have arisen as the team's sprinters. With more training, both have the potential to be solid point-winners.
Freshman Stephanie Wang, junior Eliza Novick-Smith have been solid breaststrokers this year. Both specialize in breaststroke but can do the other strokes for the team as well, they will be consistent point winners in future seasons.
 Regular Season
Captains Jackie Wu and Alexandra Essey lead the team to a third place finish in the Manhattan/Bronx League. (5-2)

Freshman Emily Jiang placed second for 100 Breastroke, thus qualifying to swim at Opens.
