[edit] About this Community Service Opportunity
The Landmark experience is a unique one. No matter the place, the site, or the organization in which you work, you will have a uniquely Landmark experience.
It is one that is based on the understanding that when you do something to improve the world around you, you do something to improve yourself. Every one of our host organizations is dedicated to values that enhance our society. You will be welcomed into an organization and included in its community and mission. It is one that doesn't just foster teamwork; it is teamwork. You'll be working in a team with a select group of 12 other students from across the country who share your sense of purpose and values. It is one that provides many opportunities for friendship and fun both during and outside of work. It is one that has been perfected over sixteen years: well organized and run by a fulltime professional staff with experience in volunteerism, student enrichment, and college preparatory programs.
It is one that is led by a Landmark Team Leader who will be in charge of the group at all times; supported by a senior member of the local community, serving as a community resource; and instructed by a member of the host organization, providing an inside look at the mission and purpose of the organization. source
